The Colombian multinational shipped 30 kilograms of dried cannabis flower from its facilities in Portugal. The company continues to conquer the world in the midst of the ‘boom’ that the industry is going through.

The Colombian multinational Clever Leaves announced on Wednesday the export of 30 kilograms of cannabis flower with a high THC content from its facilities in Portugal to the United States.

The shipment was made to Biopharmaceutical Research Company (brc), a DEA-licensed pharmaceutical company that develops plant-based active pharmaceutical ingredients in that country.

According to the company, this export strengthens the entry of Clever Leaves to the United States and consolidates Biopharmaceutical Research’s ability to carry out international operations. The Clever Leaves product, which meets strict pharmaceutical standards, will be used for BRC’s pharmaceutical development projects. In addition to this shipment of dried cannabis flower, BRC and Clever Leaves have achieved an alliance over the last year through their collaboration on the Change Lives Project , an initiative announced earlier this year that seeks to contribute up to $25 million. in medicinal cannabis products to aid the advancement of scientific research in the United States.

“This export not only represents an important opportunity for Clever Leaves but also demonstrates the company’s capabilities to find the regulatory path, in compliance with the current regulatory framework, to enter the US, the largest cannabis market in the world”, highlighted Kyle Detwiler, CEO of Clever Leaves.

The Clever Leaves growing facilities in Portugal are situated on an area of approximately 836,127 square meters and feature a high-tech greenhouse of about 10,219 square meters.

With crops in Pesca, Boyacá, a laboratory and an extraction plant in Tocancipá, Clever Leaves is the creation of three Colombians, who a little more than five years ago got together to promote medicinal cannabis, an industry that until then did not call care in the country.
